About the Role
The Data Center Operations Engineer will ensure the reliable operation of our Mumbai data‑center facilities, handling hardware, backup, and vendor interactions. You will work closely with IT teams to maintain uptime, support disaster recovery drills, and meet compliance requirements.
What You'll Do
- Monitor servers, storage, network, and security devices, responding to hardware alerts and incidents.
- Manage tape libraries, including tape rotation, backup monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Coordinate with OEMs and vendors to raise support tickets, arrange hardware replacements, and manage spares.
- Perform infrastructure support tasks such as server installations, hardware upgrades, rack and stack activities, and cabling.
- Oversee backup and disaster recovery operations, collaborating with backup engineers and supporting DR drills.
- Participate in audits, provide documentation, and support compliance initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 3 years of experience in enterprise data‑center operations.
- Strong knowledge of tape management, backup processes, and DR support.
- Hands‑on experience with server, storage, and network infrastructure monitoring.
- Ability to coordinate with OEMs/Vendors and manage hardware incidents.
- Experience with IBM, HPE, or Dell hardware platforms.
- Good communication skills and attention to documentation for audits.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to backup tools and tape library technologies.
- Familiarity with regulatory audit processes in data‑center environments.
