About the Role
We are looking for a forward-thinking Java Developer with AI experience to join our engineering team in Walnut Creek, CA. In this position, you will be responsible for developing high-performance backend systems while integrating AI-assisted coding tools like GitHub Copilot to drive efficiency and innovation.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Core Java and J2EE frameworks.
- Build and enhance microservices architectures using Spring Boot and Hibernate.
- Develop and optimize RESTful APIs to facilitate seamless communication between distributed services.
- Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes on AWS Cloud.
- Utilize GitHub Copilot and other AI-powered tools to accelerate coding, testing, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical challenges and software bugs.
What We're Looking For
- Strong professional experience with Core Java and modern frameworks like Spring Boot.
- Proven expertise in managing relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-native technologies, specifically AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using AI-assisted coding tools like GitHub Copilot to improve workflow.
- Solid understanding of Git version control and build tools like Maven or Gradle.
- Must be a local candidate residing in California for this contract engagement.
Nice to Have
- Practical experience working within Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline implementation and automated testing frameworks.
- Understanding of distributed application patterns and performance tuning.
